Weekend Review - Strong Wins for U16 Girls and Senior Men
It was a positive weekend for Corrib RFC, with two strong performances and two important wins as the season continues to build momentum.
U16 Girls: Corrib 25 – 15 Carrick-on-Shannon
Our U16 Girls hosted Carrick-on-Shannon and produced a terrific display in a game where both sides were evenly matched throughout. Corrib edged ahead with a composed and energetic performance, running out 25–15 winners in front of our loyal sideline support.
A sincere thank you to the Carrick-on-Shannon team and management for travelling, and to all the parents and volunteers who helped out on the day — especially those who brought food, supported in the kitchen, and lent a hand in any way.
Senior Men: Claremorris 0 – 36 Corrib
The Senior Men delivered an impressive 36–0 away win over Claremorris, showing huge defensive commitment and excellent efficiency with ball in hand.
Tries came from Gavin Walsh (2), Finn (2), John McHugh, and Liam Judge, with Eric Flynn adding three conversions. Corrib spent long periods defending, but the tackling and overall workrate were outstanding. Chances were limited at times, but the team were clinical whenever opportunities came.
