U16 Girls Rugby is Back at Corrib RFC!
Corrib RFC is thrilled to announce that our U16 Girls Squad will be competing this season following the appointment of a new coaching team.
We’re excited to welcome Jacinta Sweeney, ex-Corrib RFC player, and Stephen Kelly as coaches and managers of the squad, with Helena Fahy and Deirdre Curran assisting. Their focus is clear: to foster a positive, inclusive environment where every player can grow, learn, and thrive—both on and off the pitch.
Jacinta and Stephen are looking forward to working with the girls. "Our goal is to promote and teach the sport of rugby. We want to provide opportunities for all the players to reach their potential. We are committed to providing the best possible, positive environment for our players which encourages discipline, commitment and integrity both on and off the pitch. We want each player to be able to have fun, to make and keep friends, to experience the unique culture of rugby, and to learn about participating positively in a team sport."
Training kicks off Tuesdays from 7:00 PM to 8:15 PM, and all U16 girls are welcome to come along and give rugby a try. Whether you're new to rugby or looking to return, this is the perfect time to join and experience the fun and unique culture of the sport.
With female participation on the rise at Corrib, we’ve grown from just 3 female members in 2019 to almost equal male numbers! Let’s keep that momentum going.
Research shows that many girls drop out of sports in their teens—don’t be part of that statistic! Stay active, make friends, and experience the team spirit rugby has to offer.
Ready to give it a go? Just turn up at training or contact Jacinta or Stephen at 086 8931239 for more info.
Join the team, be part of the future of Corrib RFC!
