Weekend Action: A Look Back at Corrib RFC's U14s & U18.5s
It was a big weekend for Corrib RFC, with both our U14s and U18.5s in action. Here's a quick look back at how it all played out:
U14s Show Their Strength in Ballinrobe
Our U14s made the trip to Ballinrobe on Sunday for a hard-fought match. The day began on a reflective note, as the team took a knee for a coach who couldn’t be present due to a family bereavement. Once the match began, Corrib held firm in defense, weathering early pressure from Ballinrobe before breaking through with two tries, leading 12-0 at halftime.
The second half saw Ballinrobe respond with a try, but Corrib continued to push forward, with the forwards driving hard and the backline consistently probing wide. Despite some last-ditch defending from Ballinrobe, Corrib secured a well-earned 26-10 victory. A big thank you to Mike for the photos and to Ballinrobe for their hospitality.
The U13/U14s are always looking for new players! Training is every Thursday from 18:15 to 19:30 – come down and give rugby a try. Next up, they face Connemara/Oughterard this Friday at 19:00 in Corrib.

U18.5s Fall to Loughrea in Season Opener
Our U18.5s kicked off their season with a tough match against top-of-the-table Loughrea. Despite a valiant effort, they lost out 15-38. It’s only the beginning for this side, and they’ll look to build on this performance in the coming weeks.
That wraps up a great weekend of action. Stay tuned for more updates and best of luck to all our teams in their upcoming fixtures!
