Corrib RFC Restoration Fund

We at Corrib RFC are appealing for urgent help after we fell victim to a destructive incident that completely devastated the club's new main facility and everything within it; all training equipment, all matchday equipment, squad jerseys and making the training area unusable. The incident now means that 430+ members are only weeks away from pre-season with not even a rugby ball to play with. Total losses are estimated in excess of €120,000. With the facility 95% completed it had yet to be added to our insurance policy.

Corrib RFC is a community-based and family-oriented rugby club based in the West of Ireland, 25km north of Galway City. We celebrated our 40th year in 2021 and with over 430 active members, we field 13 teams for Juvenile and Adult male and female players. Our renowned Minis Rugby section not only provides boys and girls, aged Under 7s to U12s, with skill development opportunities but also hosts the highly successful annual 'Give It A Try' program for young girls in conjunction with the IRFU.

Guided by our values of inclusion, integrity, and respect, Corrib RFC welcomes coaches and players from all backgrounds. However, the devastating fire now sees us in the position where we must restore the club back to its previous standing. To accommodate our ever growing membership, we must embark on a journey to rise once again.

The monies received will be used primarily to get us back on our feet and replenish the training equipment and playing jerseys. This will ensure that the club can reopen in time for pre-season and welcome back our 430 members. Following that a full rebuild of the facility will take place which includes a rewiring of the floodlights serving our training pitches.

We now need your help by supporting our GoFundMe page. Together, with community spirit and resilience we will rebuild and continue creating a club that embodies inclusivity and excellence in rugby.
